Project Torque Relaunching as “Heat Online” Beta Begins Mid August

Project Torque from Aeria Games is shutting down on August 2, 2010. We announced this news a week or so ago, but fans of the game need not worry anymore. Since Aeria Games is shutting down their service of the game, a company called Innologin LTD is relaunching Project Torque as “Heat Online” and the open beta for this racing MMO is scheduled to begin mid-august. Players likely will NOT be able to transfer their characters and equipment over to the new service, as Innologin has told me that their version of “Project Torque” will be a bit different than the one Aeria Games published. Make no mistake though, “Heat Online” is the same game as “Project Torque” just with a few different things. Just as the Gamigo version (called Level-R) was a bit different than the Aeria Games version, Heat Online will offer a few different features.

Innologin Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of HEAT Online, thier new free-to-play MMORG (Massively Multiplayer Online Racing Game) for players in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

HEAT Online is offering an exciting and fun alternative besides other upcoming new games like Need for Speed World.

The Beta version of HEAT Online is set to launch in middle of August 2010.

About the game
Players can race against thousands of fellow players across the streets of Tokyo, on the racetracks of Germany or the Hungarian and Mexican off-road tracks, in the English countryside, on the rooftops of Shanghai and many more.
The game developer, Invictus’ latest game engine offers a realistic real-time damage model. The vehicles are user-customizable both in appearance and performance. Racers win points with racing, they can buy items in-game and tune their ride.
This game does not require professional driving skills; we’d like to see players having fun!

It is FREE TO DOWNLOAD and FREE TO PLAY. It means there is NO subscription fee. Almost all items in the item mall are available for free (for points earned by playing the game) but players can also get them fast for real money what Innologin spend on improving the service and the game further.

Players can try new game modes like SUMO with cars in the Open Beta. Furthermore, players will have the usual race mode on circuit tracks, street racing, drift mode with drift cars, stock car racing mode with specialized tracks and more to come later…

Other game features
Racing Crews (teams)
Crew Tournaments and ladders
In-game item mall for cars and upgrades
Championships, cups & Events
Single player career mode

Your comment sounds boring too. It’s one of the very few online free racing games and IMO much better than NFS World. Just my 2 cents.

Actually, it’s far from boring. I’ve been playing Project Torque for a year and a half, but it has only become boring because there are a whole lot less people right now, although, it was expected. Once Heat Online gets released, I would highly suggest checking it out. I know at least half of the old PT community will join.

Well it may be a few but still better make a new game and not change the name.

Nope. It sucks. Not Global. We Europeans are hated by publishers/developers/whatever. Project Torque was global. I like that.
    Byebye.

Well, you could check the european version of the game which is LevelR, but not as good as Project Torque was IMO. Project Torque devs listened to the community, on the other hand gamigo who runs LevelR doesn’t give a crap all they care about is money and IP blocks. As for community half player base can’t even speak english and global chat is flooded in german.

the next step from invictus to get our money. not many pt players will join, and they know why. its a cheesy practice to mess around and fleece gamers…
