CrimeCraft has patched its servers today with a large update that includes a rework of the F2P model. Free-to-play characters will now only get experience, loot, and cash at about half the rate of subscribing players, have bank tab limitations, and be charged higher in-game cash for services. Aika has announced its open beta phase will begin on March 16th. The open beta will cover all content from levels 1 through 50, all races and classes, and PvP content. A report from the LA Times today asserts that the hit show Battlestar Galactica will soon be finding its way into the online gaming world. What’s more, the game (to be announced at GDC) will be browser-based and free-to-play. Tales of Fantasy, a new MMO from IGG that features mounted combat, has begun its alpha phase of testing today. The test will last for eight days, and those lucky enough to get an alpha test key and play will be entered for a chance to win an Apple iPad. Plan B is now in global beta testing. You can begin downloading the client and playing, no registration necessary, at http://www.planbaction.com. Plan B offers five characters – a baseball player, boxer, rugby player, fireman, and rock star. The game also offers the ability to use environmental objects in battle. Conquer Online has announced that it will launch its third official expansion, named “Legends Return,” in April of this year. The expansion will feature a new Monk class, a new skill system and guild wars; in addition, players will find new equipment, dungeons, and quests waiting for them. Runes of Magic is celebrating its first year anniversary this week, from March 8th to March 15th. Daily contests will be held on the official Facebook page for Runes of Magic. There will be double experience all week for mobs and quests, and double TP for mobs only. Other anniversary events will be run on a schedule in-game, which can be viewed in the official forums.

King of Kings 3, part of a successful Taiwanese MMORPG series, will be coming to the west through gamigo. The game will feature seven fantasy realms based on medieval powers, and the localization process is aiming to reduce grinding. The game will be heavily focused on PvP and guild gameplay, including a “multi-tiered” guild system and PvP battles that can host 10,000 players.
