Default Questiona about RAM and Processors

-For gaming is 4gb of ram enough or should i go for 8gb (which is pushing my budget)

-also for gaming is a 2.5ghz+ processor with 2 cores good enough or should i go with like 2.5ghz+ with 4 cores (again, pushing my budget)

I will not be playing games with maxed out settings

Really depends on what games you're going to be playing.

I would check out AMD's APU line, its basically a CPU and a GPU on one chip which can save you money. As for dual vs. quad, get the best hardware you can afford. If you sink money into decently spec'd hardware it'll be longer before you have to go upgrading it. Anyway I'd take a look at these I have one in my computer and have no trouble playing games on med/high settings. As for ram 4 GB is plenty for most games and anything over 8 GB on a desktop is overkill unless your doing intensive audio/video editing.

Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, CPUs / Processors, Processors - Desktops, A-Series APU

The current Intel i3 series or Llano would do the job, then.
