Aion Beta.

So Aion closed beta has started for the second time. I quite enjoyed the game during the first beta, but did not think it was good enough to pay for the subscription.

I haven't been lucky to get a beta key this time, is there anyone who's got one and doesn't want it?

It's not actually a normal beta. Probably just a stress test for the servers and what not, or to see how they can fix the upcoming gameplay model.

Now, I copy pasted that quote, because I wanted to give a note that Aion is actually a P2P game going to F2P, in case you didn't know. That part raised some questions with me...

The beta tests the payment models mainly, but also some weird bugs occured to far like unlimited falling down far below the world and tutorials not appearing on German and French clients.

The closed beta will be 3 weeks. On the first week everyone is a starter, on the second everyone is a veteran and on the third everyone is a gold user. There will be a wipe after the closed beta but you get rewarded for leveling:
Level 10 - 7 days gold and veteran status
Level 20 - 15 days gold and veteran status
Level 30 - 30 days gold and veteran status

No doubt it will be just like the other horrid p2p >> f2p models in games like EQII and DDO.
