So my account was banned permanantly for SWEARING, and it was a FIRST TIME OFFENSE. What about the $70 on my account? After several pointless back and forths with their "Support" (emphasis on the word support) it was clear they were quite fine with me losing 70 dollars all because I swore.
Some kind of consumer rights? Aeriagames members dont have any. I read their terms of service and rules and Aeriagames basically reserve the right to ban you permanantly for anything, all is left to their corrupt judgement. I told my story on their forums and they just remove my thread, they won't let anyone speak out against them. It honestly seems more like a criminal organisation. So I wanted to post somewhere they couldnt control me. Found this video : GM Abuse from Aeria Games Staff in Eden Eternal - YouTube That's a form of harassment, so what, aeriagames don't even follow their own terms of service and rules? Has anyone else out there been wrongfully dealt with by this company? Because after I searched I found a lot of disturbing stories. |

You're right, if I knew the way things were, I could of avoided it.
But there was no way for me to know really. I got a warning from Riot Games once. I was like, "Fair enough", and I never swore again. That's the way things SHOULD be. And trollduck i hope that isnt what happened, although, i think i swore at a player with over 10,000 forum posts. might of been a preferred customer of some sort . . . |

I don't think that was the case. He simply reported your post on forums using the report feature and then a staff member looked at it and decided that it indeed breaks one of the rules and banned you.

This is exactly why I tend to stay away from publishers their game-forums. If you have your own opinion, chances are you are gonna get banned.

Yeah, true .. true.
I think I'm going to quit online gaming. I mean, if I go to the store and buy a game. Worst that can happen is the game doesnt work and I can take it back and get a new one. It's like, I have rights and stuff. But with aeria it's basically like, i bought their games, but then they came and took them away forever because they don't like me. And they wont talk about it, and will sweep me aside like a million other people they've probably done it to. They just remove any post i make, they won't even hear me out, and support is just a dead end. It's just so ..... messed up. If i did ever try a company like that again, im gonna read their TOS and rules very very closely. If it sounds like I'll have no rights at all ( like aerias ), then i wont bother in the first place |

Aeria just bought out ijji, so anyone who had an ijji account will have to deal with this too.

Well actually all MMORPGs publisher put into their terms of service "All accounts, character and any related information are the property of the publisher. The publisher holds the right to decide to terminate the service at any time and out of any reason."
If they don't do it they run risks to get sued. But if I they put that in their ToS then can just laugh at everybody threatening them. Several years ago Blizzard got sued for deleting a character of a banned player who later could proof that he was innocent. That player got a lot of money from Blizzard. Ever since then all publisher put those lines in their ToS. You just need to be aware that you don't buy an MMORPG. You only rent the right to play it. Or rent the right to use an item in it (for F2P). None of these things really belong to you they are just rented. It's different for offline RPGs where you are actually the owner of once you bought them. There is also a huge difference between the budget needed to make an offline RPG and the money to make an MMORPG, so it's kinda hard to compare the prices. But you should never spend more money on an MMORPG than you think is worth "up to now". Don't spend because you think it will be worth that in the future. If I had fun with an MMORPG for one month I spend what I thought that month was worth. So I never regret if the service gets terminated later on. Keep in mind that this does not just mean being banned it can also be that the game is closed completely. Lately you have the same problem with offline games, though. Because of their stupid licensing right you can only play the games when the license server is running. I totally hate that (I'm looking at you Ubisoft). |

you may be right there Rya, (btw love the Konata avatar)
I just wish i had known better, and i just dont want others to make the same mistake. I dont know how aeria is so damn popular, so many fragile accounts just waiting to be banned. To be honest im totally mad, I wish their company would crumble for what it is. Or at least have all their support staff fired. . . . . . . . . (Seriously, they aren't worth whatever they're being paid) |
