RIFT Lite

Most of you have probably already heard about it but RIFT is going partially Free-to-Play by allowing players to level up to level 20 without any time restrictions.

It seems though that there's a lot of uncertainty about restrictions so I did some searching and found the following:

RIFT Lite restrictions are as follows:
- A RIFT subscription is required to access any characters on the account above level 20
- Maximum Level: 20
- Maximum Currency: 5 Platinum / 500 Planarite / 1000 Favor
- Auction House: Purchase only; cannot sell
- Mail: Receive only; cannot send
- Trade: Receive only; cannot initiate
- Open Zones: Terminus, Mathosia, Freemarch, Silverwood, Meridian, and Sanctum
- Crafting: Novice (75) skill-level cap
- Guilds: Member only; cannot be promoted
- Chat: Local channels + level chat only; no global chats (trade/lfg/etc.)

This has been confirmed by Trion as it's on their site.

You are able to access every zone from levels 1-20 and you are also able to PvP.
For returning players it's the same but your characters that are already above level 20 will be locked and can only be unlocked by subscribing again.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

I might give Rift a try next year. For now I'll stick with Aion.

rift is wow with better graphics and small gameplay improvements

the irony is that wow will be the last to turn f2p.. i have some great ideas for wow f2p:

only available races and classes respectively:

alliance:
human
-warrior
-mage
-priest


horde:
orc
-warrior
-shaman


everything about the above is f2p - spells, gear, professions, events, consumables..


if a person wants to play as the other races and classes, he has to purchase every each one them

this way premium users will become veterans who dont have to pay anything anymore
and f2p users will only have the basics - orc and human, tank, ranged dps and healer


and everyone will be happy.......... and everything will be infested with filthy humans and dirty orcs... the end



i was just thinking about the balance .. i wonder if the horde needs the warlock or they would be too powerful with him, while shaman can be healer, hybrid melee caster and a ranged dps.. but as a ranged dps or a healer.. i think the mage and the priest are superior
